Progress on Fieldwork:


-Went to URI and met with Dr. Lee and one of his PhD students. Went out to lunch and got to visit local fish hatchery.


-Went out to Arcata, California. Visited my future college (HSU) and got a tour of the greenhouses (one was a tropical greenhouse) and also visited the school fish hatchery.

-Drove out to Michigan. Got tank built and started fiber glassing. Got troughs constructed and sealed, starting fiber glassing tomorrow. Went to home depot to get supplies for the system. Planted a couple hundred lettuce, basil, and bok choy.

-Returned to newton, system is set up at school

-Water in school is of poor quality so having difficulties with that.

-System at school is completely set up. Fish have been purchased and are in the tank.

-Construction manual is done. Fiberglassing manual is done.

-First batch of seedlings started died, second batch is germinating

-Focusing time on paper now, any extra time after papers done will be devoted to work on the Curriculum

-Successfully got interviews with Dr. Lennard, Dr. Rakocy, and my father.
